Will Ospreay Wants Match With WWE Legend

Will Ospreay AEW Dynasty

Will Ospreay is looking ahead to a new challenge.

At Double or Nothing, Will Ospreay captured his first piece of AEW gold with a victory over Roderick Strong.

After his clash with Bryan Danielson at Dynasty a month earlier, Ospreay had pledged to retire the Tiger Driver 91, but Strong almost pushed him to bring it back. Following one of several stunning exchanges, Ospreay gathered himself in the corner before being approached by Don Callis who implored him to use the move to finish his rival.

Although the British star contemplated following Callis’ advice, he couldn’t pull the trigger, but ultimately he didn’t need to, finishing his rival with a Stormbreaker.

Will Ospreay “Fascinated” By Match With WWE Hall Of Famer

Speaking ahead of Double or Nothing, Ospreay reiterated his desire to face the very best AEW has to offer. This includes a clash of generations with WWE legend and 11-time World Champion, Adam Copeland.

During an interview with Justin Walker, Ospreay said Copeland’s run with AEW has left him wondering what a match between the pair could look like.

“I’d really like Adam Copeland just because he’s transformed into a different animal, especially to what he was on the other channel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him like this before, once again, he’s trying new stuff out and he’s fitting in with our style.

I do feel like AEW has a different style to what every other pro wrestling company does to where we actually put the sole focus on pro wrestling, the story is pro wrestling. It is about climbing the ranks, it is about being the best and the fact that he’s just taken to it.

I just can’t help but think, ‘What does that look like? What does Ospreay vs. Copeland look like?’ I’m very much fascinated with that one.”

In the moments after Ospreay’s win, MJF made a stunning return to AEW, attacking Adam Cole before unveiling an interesting new tattoo.
