Will Ospreay Says “Kenny Omega Is Once In A Lifetime”

Will Ospreay heaped praise on Kenny Omega following their much-loved bout at Forbidden Door.

Forbidden Door saw Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega go head to head in their second singles bout to date. The two have been at odds on social media for years, and their first singles bout took place at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 back in January.

On that occasion, Omega was victorious, winning the IWGP United States Championship that had been held by Ospreay. Now, the two met in a rematch for that same title, and Ospreay was able to regain the championship when he pinned Omega at Forbidden Door.

Taking to social media after the bout, Ospreay proved that any previously-held animosity between the two men seemed to have been put to rest as he heaped praise on his longtime foe, saying that overcoming him was both challenging and rewarding.

“Kenny Omega is once in a lifetime.

There will never be anyone that will be able to master the craft the way he has. Overcoming him was legitimately the most challenging and yet rewarding task of my life.

While everyone can say they’re ‘all elite’

You can say you’re above elite”

Omega, meanwhile, also took to social media to reflect on his main event bout. He admitted that Ospreay was the better man at Forbidden Door, and also made sure to mention that he wanted Don Callis nowhere near the IWGP United States Championship.

“I lost and Will was the better man tonight. The US belt is in good hands. Keep Don away from it. #AEWxNJPW #forbiddendoor”
