Will Ospreay Parts Ways With Controversial Promotion
Will Ospreay issued a statement explaining why he won’t be working for a particular wrestling promotion.
As one of the top stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Will Ospreay is in high demand. Due to the nature of his contract, Will is able to take dates with other promotions. That has led to him having an outstanding match where he beat Chris Jericho at AEW All In two weeks ago in Wembley Stadium.
In addition to that, Ospreay has some upcoming dates with IMPACT Wrestling including their Bound for Glory PPV in October and more dates in the United Kingdom in November as well.
Ospreay is the current NJPW UK Champion after beating Kenny Omega for the title at Forbidden Door in Toronto back in June. The title used to be the NJPW US Title, but Ospreay recently changed it to the NJPW UK Title.
Will Ospreay Plans To No Longer Wrestle 1PW
Even though he is the current 1PW World Heavyweight Champion, Will Ospreay is parting ways with the company. 1PW was recently accused of not paying talent and because of that, they have received a lot of negative attention, which has also led to Ospreay leaving the promotion.
On Twitter/X, Will Ospreay issued the following statement regarding his 1PW departure.
“Business is about having trust and seeing what has unfolded with talent & management, it’s evident that the company has issues that need to be addressed & I urge talent to get what is deserved & agreed on. That being said the roster & shows were extremely fun to be a part of because of the talent, the crew & the audience.”
“I have no ill feelings towards 1PW/Steven. I wish them all the best for the future not just professionally but personally.”
