Will Ospreay holds Triple H in extremely high regard, saying that the WWE head honcho is “such a gangster”.
Whilst Will Ospreay will defend the IWGP United States Championship against AEW’s Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17, perhaps the more surprising competitor on the card is NEVER Openweight Champion Karl Anderson. When The Good Brothers rejoined WWE last year, Anderson was allowed to have a dual contract which would see him keep up commitments to NJPW – although this wasn’t possible on the same day as Crown Jewel.
Commenting on WWE allowing contracted talent to work elsewhere during an interval with Fightful, Will Ospreay has called Triple H “a G”, and appreciates that he keeps an eye on other promotions rather than just his own product.
I’m shocked at it, but in the same sense, now that Triple H is running the ship, it’s got to be said, I think Triple H is a G. I think he’s such a gangster. I’ve always liked him. He’s a cool dude. He clearly watches what goes on outside of his bubble, which is amazing, the fact that he’s allowed Karl to have this dual deal is cool. It does make me wonder what doors could be open. I always want to know who is the best out of their crop. I always like testing myself and it would be very interesting if there was a way of making that door open. You never know.
During the interview, Ospreay also gave a hint as to where his future may lie once his contract with NJPW expires next year.
