Will Ospreay Nixes Idea Of Quick Kenny Omega Rematch

At Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega went to war in what has become an increasingly personal rivalry over the IWGP US Championship.

Kenny Omega dethroned Ospreay for the title at Wrestle Kingdom in early 2023 and that did not sit well with the English star.

Will Ospreay won a tournament to become Omega’s challenger at Forbidden Door but things took a very personal turn as Omega’s old friend Don Callis turned on him and ended up accompanying Ospreay to the ring in Toronto.

In the end, a vicious Storm Driver ’93 that had many people worried for Omega’s health and a Storm Breaker were enough to give Ospreay the win and the championship. However on Dynamite Kenny Omega had a stern warning for his rival and noted that he’ll be back with many expecting the two men to complete their trilogy at All In in London, England. However, Will Ospreay might have other ideas.

Speaking to Dark Puroresu Flowsion Ospreay noted that he’s happy to let things with Omega settle where they are just now with each man picking up one big win over the other:

“At the time I’d very much like if we put this to bed as it is tied 1-1 now. Now everything has kinda settled I’d almost like to direct my attention to new challenges & allow those 2 matches to just marinate for now.”

For now, the fun doesn’t stop for Will Ospreay as he embarks on one of pro wrestling’s most grueling endeavors, the G1 Climax tournament.
