New Japan Pro Wrestling star Will Ospreay didn’t have to cast his gaze too far to find what he calls the “greatest tag team match” he’s ever seen.
NJPW presented Royal Quest II over two nights on the 1st and 2nd of October from the Crystal Palace Arena in London, England. This was the first time that NJPW had returned to the UK following the first Royal Quest show back in 2019.
On night 2 of the event, Ospreay joined his United Empire teammates Gideon Grey, Aussie Open, and Great-O-Khan to defeat FTR, Shota Umino, Ricky Knight Jr, and Gabriel Kidd in a ten-man tag team match. However, it was on night one that the IWGP United States Champion saw something really special.
Will Ospreay took to social media to wax lyrical over the IWGP Tag Team Championship match he saw between Aussie Open and the champions FTR:
“5 Stars !! That was the greatest tag team match I’ve ever seen FTR Vs Aussie Open was good the crowd stood up at 20 minutes have past. And didn’t sit down til 35 minutes past.”

FTR were successful in their first defence of the championship that they captured at Forbidden Door in an instant classic meaning that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler continue into the last quarter of 2022 as IWGP, ROH, and AAA Tag Team Champions.
