Will Ospreay Believes He Can Defeat “Injury Prone” AEW Star
Will Ospreay is confident that he will win if he gets the chance to face a big name AEW star that he believes is “injury prone.”
When it comes to Will Ospreay, he’s a man who is never lacking in confidence. As the current IWGP United Kingdom Champion (it was the United States Championship in the past), Ospreay is not afraid to take on any wrestler and talk some trash while he does it.
At the June AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view in Toronto, Ospreay beat his biggest rival Kenny Omega to win back the IWGP UK (or US) Title in a match that many fans will likely consider one of the best matches of the year.
The main event of Forbidden Door saw AEW’s Bryan Danielson beat NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada in a dream match. Danielson broke his arm during the match, yet he was able to finish it and pick up a victory. Bryan would go on to miss about two months of action due to the injury.
While speaking to Tokyo Sports, Will Ospreay took a shot at Danielson for being “injury prone” while bragging that his match with Omega was the better of the two matches at Forbidden Door.
“Which match at that event was the most exciting? Wasn’t it Ospreay vs. Kenny? Bryan beat Okada with a broken arm, and I think he was very tough. I think he’s very tough, but on the other hand, he’s injury prone. If I fight him, I’m confident I can beat him easily.”
It sure sounds like Ospreay is interested in wrestling Bryan Danielson at some point in the future while wrestling fans would likely be interested in seeing it.
Will Ospreay wrestling for IMPACT Wrestling at Bound For Glory
While Will Ospreay is talking about AEW’s Bryan Danielson, his next major match on a North American pay-per-view is on October 21st when he faces “Speedball” Mike Bailey at IMPACT Wrestling’s Bound for Glory event.
Ospreay has had a big year picking up wins over wrestling legends like Kazuchika Okada, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho, so he’ll do what he can to get a win over Bailey as well.
