Will Ospreay Cuts Unusual Deal With Jon Moxley

Will Ospreay/Jon Moxley split

Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay have agreed a “ceasefire.”

At Wrestle Kingdom 18, Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley, and David Finlay will meet to decide a new IWGP Global Champion. The championship was recently created following the chaos around Ospreay’s United Kingdom Championship — a rechristened version of the IWGP United States Title. During a press conference ahead of Wrestle Kingdom, the new IWGP Global Championship was officially unveiled.

During the same press conference, Ospreay and Moxley agreed to a “ceasefire” for the first five minutes of the match enabling them to dispatch Finlay and have a singles match. NJPW noted the following:

“After conferring with Ospreay, Moxley took the Briton up on his offer of ‘a ceasefire’ in the opening five minutes of the three way match to take out Finlay and then ‘leave things to what the fans want to see, a singles match between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay’. With some non alcoholic beer to sweeten the deal, Moxley and Ospreay thanked the Japanese fans for the positive mark they had made on the contender’s respective careers before departing.”
