Will Ospreay Says Latest AEW Row Was Blown Out Of Proportion

Will Ospreay

Will Ospreay has little time for reports of backstage unrest in AEW.

On August 2nd it was reported there was recently a backstage altercation involving Britt Baker, Alicia Atout, and MJF. Baker was fined and suspended following the incident where it’s claimed she was venting her frustration about MJF.

It was later reported that Baker called Atout — MJF’s partner, a “stupid f*cking b*tch,” and a frustrated MJF punched a wall. It was also claimed that Will Ospreay spoke to Baker about the altercation, however, the details around his involvement have remained under wraps.

Given AEW’s very public issues with backstage controversy in the past, the incident — no matter how small it might have been, immediately made headlines and became a huge talking point online. This is despite many connected to the company trying to talk it down.

Will Ospreay Dismisses Britt Baker/MJF Incident

During a new interview with the New York Post, Will Ospreay dived into his life with AEW, and thoughts on the wrestling industry in general. When asked about the spat between MJF and Baker, he admitted he didn’t know exactly what had been reported, but claimed the incident was overblown.

The most completely blown out of proportion thing I ever seen in my entire life.

I am just trying to bring people together as a team,” he said. “That’s all I can say. I’m fully aware people don’t like each other backstage. I know there are people backstage that I don’t like. My whole thing is that going forward we all need to be a team. We all need to look after one another.”

In an interview of his own, MJF claimed the incident had been blown out of all proportion. The former World Champion claimed that almost everything that had been written on the subject never happened.

MJF and Will Ospreay are set to meet for the American (International) Title at All In.
