Will Ospreay Agrees To AEW Full Gear Grudge Match
The AEW Full Gear card has become stronger because Will Ospreay will be part of the show in a huge grudge match.
At the AEW WrestleDream PPV, Will Ospreay lost the coveted International Title in a triple threat match against Konosuke Takeshita and Ricochet. Ospreay lost that match because Ospreay’s former best friend Kyle Fletcher hit Will with a screwdriver to the head. Takeshita hit a running knee to Ospreay’s head and got the pin to leave with the International Title.
After the match, Fletcher gave Ospreay the dreaded Tiger Driver slam. Ospreay sat out for a few weeks before making his return to television on AEW Dynamite last week.
On AEW Dynamite in Bridgeport, CT, Ospreay was given promo time in the ring and he immediately called out Fletcher. After Ospreay talked about how Fletcher was Ospreay’s best friend and even spent time with Ospreay’s family, Fletcher spoke about why he did what he did to Ospreay.
Fletcher: “Don (Callis) didn’t do anything but open my eyes to the truth. Yes, you did all that for me. Yes, you gave me a place to sleep when I needed it. But who were you really doing it for? I think you were doing it for yourself. Everything you do is about Will Ospreay. You wanted to turn me into your clone, so I never succeeded as much as you did, keeping me locked under your wing. Look at what you did to Okada and Omega. In my position you would have done the exact same thing!”
That led to Ospreay questioning how Fletcher really feels about the situation.
Ospreay: “Pick a lane. Are you nothing like me or are you just an Ospreay clone? I’ll own it. I stabbed Omega and Okada in the back, but before that, I held gold and had accomplishments. What have you done? Not you and Mark Davis. What have you done?”
Will Ospreay Refers To Himself As “Mr. Pay-Per-View” In AEW
Kyle Fletcher would go on to challenge Will Ospreay for a match at AEW Full Gear on November 23rd. Ospreay responded with a promise to end Fletcher.
Ospreay: “You want your five minutes of fame! There it is! Around these parts I’m called Mr. Pay-Per-View. You want the match, Kyle, challenge accepted lad! And let me tell you why this is going to be so sweet. When I watched you shave your head, I looked down at my hand and my little boy was holding my hand and I didn’t feel it because of the Tiger Driver you gave me. At Full Gear, I’m going to take everything away from you!”
In response to that, Fletcher made a bold statement: “At Full Gear I’m not just coming for a piece Will, I’m coming for everything!”
AEW Full Gear takes place on Saturday, November 23rd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
