Wild Backstage Reaction To Gruesome Jon Moxley AEW Spot

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley left people stunned.

As a blizzard hit Omaha, Nebraska, Jon Moxley drove for 11 hours to attend the March 19 edition of Dynamite and defend the AEW World Championship.

In a huge rematch from Revolution, Moxley put his title on the line against Cope, but this time, in a Street Fight. When all was said and done the Death Riders star retained the gold, after a clash filled with violence, run-ins galore, and all-out chaos.

However, there was only one spot everyone was talking about. With the match in full swing, Cope suplexed Jon Moxley onto Spike — a bat filled with nails. These nails then became embedded in Moxley’s back as the referee and Wheeler Yuta struggled to get the bat free.

The shocking moment left fans stunned, and opinion was split online between admiration and claims Moxley had finally gone too far.

Disbelief At Jon Moxley Spot

As reported by Fightful Select, there was a wild reaction to the spot involving the nail-filled bat. This included an air of disbelief that the pair went through with it on television after similar spots had been teased but never completed for over a decade.

Despite the gruesome visuals in the immediate aftermath of the stunt, Moxley was said to be okay backstage.

Elsewhere on Dynamite, Ricochet and “Speedball” Mike Bailey both pinned Mark Davis to earn a match with Kenny Omega for the International Championship at Dynasty.
