Why WWE’s Roman Reigns Is Always Trying To Get Better
Roman Reigns has explained how he’s driven to be the best in WWE because “I just believe this is what I’m supposed to do.”
There are a lot of huge stars in the current era of WWE and many people would put Roman Reigns at the top of the list when talking about who the biggest star is. In fact, 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena has called Roman Reigns the greatest WWE superstar of all time.
As the “Tribal Chief” leading The Bloodline group, Roman Reigns held the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for an incredible 1,316 days, which meant he was the main champion in WWE for nearly four years.
During that run as the champion, Reigns was the top heel in the company. After taking off about four months after WrestleMania 40, Reigns returned to WWE as one of the biggest babyfaces in the company and the “OTC” meaning the Original Tribal Chief.
Even though Roman Reigns is a future WWE Hall of Famer with six WWE/World Title reigns and a record 9 WrestleMania main event matches, he is still motivated to be the best.
In an interview with No-Contest Wrestling Podcast with O’Shea Jackson Jr & TJ Jefferson, Reigns spoke about his insane drive to be the best.
“I’m a sick man. I got that thing, that drive. I want more, always want more. Goal posts go back. We’re in the end zone. Move them back again. We got pretty high. There’s another level. So I’m always trying to get better. I just believe this is what I’m supposed to do.
The Wiseman picks me up in the morning. ‘How you doing?’ I woke up. Everybody else is fucked because I woke up. That’s how I look at it. You all had a chance until I woke up, and today’s mine. That’s just what it is.”
Roman Reigns Could Be In A Huge Triple Threat Match At WrestleMania
In the Men’s Royal Rumble match, Roman Reigns was battling his former Shield “brother” Seth Rollins when CM Punk dumped both men over the top to the floor. Logan Paul followed up by dumping Punk over the top to eliminate him.
After their elimination, an enraged Rollins gave Reigns a nasty version of The Stomp on the floor. Roman’s “Wise Man” Paul Heyman yelled about it, so Rollins gave Heyman a middle finger salute and Rollins gave Reigns another version of The Stomp on the steel steps.
On the Raw episode that followed, WWE claimed that Reigns was “out of action for the foreseeable future” which is another way of saying Reigns was on a break likely for a month or so until he sought revenge on Rollins.
Regarding WrestleMania 41 plans, it has been reported that Reigns is likely going to be in a triple threat match with Seth Rollins and CM Punk, which should be one of the biggest matches during WrestleMania. None of those three men have a title, but their presence certainly gives it the feeling of a major matchup between three of WWE’s biggest superstars ever.
