Why WWE Really Announced Roman Reigns Injury

Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is out of action for the foreseeable future but now the real reason for his absence has been revealed.

For the first time in five years, Roman Reigns entered the Royal Rumble as he sought to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 41 to try and reclaim the Undisputed WWE Championship.

However, Roman Reigns broke an unwanted record with his worst Rumble performance which saw him become the 25th man eliminated when he was thrown over the top rope with Seth Rollins by CM Punk. In his previous Rumble performances, the worst he had achieved was finishing third in 2016 behind Dean Ambrose and eventual winner Triple H.

Following their elimination, a furious Rollins took the fight to Reigns on the outside, delivering a nasty-looking double foot stomp to Reigns’ head. Seth Rollins followed that up with another stomp to Reigns on the steel steps.

WWE has announced Roman Reigns will be out of action for the foreseeable future as he is apparently suffering an undisclosed injury. But there might be more to it than that.

Roman Reigns Not Injured

PWInsider has reported that Reigns is thankfully not injured and the “out of action” comment made by Michael Cole was simply a way to explain his upcoming short-term absence as part of the ongoing storyline.

It remains to be seen how long the Tribal Chief will be missing from TV but Roman Reigns is set for a huge match at WrestleMania 41 where he’ll have a chance to settle old scores and new ones.
