Why WWE Legend Was Pulled From Evolution 2
WWE Evolution 2 proved to be a monumental success, featuring some of the biggest names and most intense matchups in the women’s division.
From high-stakes championship clashes to a thrilling 20-woman battle royal, the event delivered from top to bottom. However, one familiar voice was noticeably absent from the show, and fans quickly began asking why. That voice belonged to none other than Lilian Garcia, the legendary ring announcer known for her iconic presence and signature style.
Garcia was originally scheduled to announce both Saturday Night’s Main Event and WWE Evolution 2. While she did manage to fulfill her duties on Saturday Night’s Main Event, she was unfortunately pulled from Evolution 2 due to health concerns.
Why Was Lilian Garcia Pulled From WWE Evolution 2?
Garcia took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message explaining the situation. She revealed she had been battling the lingering effects of a respiratory infection for several weeks.
Despite her excitement and best efforts to push through, her voice began to give out after the SNME. Rather than risk further strain, she made the difficult decision to step away from Evolution.
“Life can definitely throw some unexpected twists and turns and unfortunately I’m at the receiving end of one of them. I was so excited to be announcing @wwe Saturday Nights Main Event and @wwe Evolution this weekend but because of lingering effects of a respiratory infection I got some weeks ago, I was only able to announce SNME last night before my voice started wigging out,” she wrote.
Garcia expressed disappointment at not being able to introduce the incredible talent competing at Evolution, but emphasized the importance of listening to her body. She also praised fellow ring announcer Alicia Taylor for stepping in at the last minute to handle duties at Evolution and offered heartfelt encouragement to the entire women’s division.
“Grateful to my announce sista @aliciataylorwwe for stepping up to announce Evolution tonight and so excited to celebrate all the women involved, as all the women that have paved the way to this moment!”
“Biggest lesson I can share from this is that it’s ok to be disappointed (which I definitely am because I so badly wanted to announce these women to their respective matches) but also important to listen to your body and not push beyond its limits. For now, time to stay quiet and heal up for the next event! Love you guys and best of luck to all you ladies tonight!! Go crush it!!! #wwe #evolution,” she added.

Though fans were undoubtedly disappointed by her absence, Garcia made it clear that this is only a temporary setback. She’s taking the time she needs to heal and promised she’ll be back when fully recovered.
