Why Unhappiness At Penta In WWE Was Misplaced

Penta WWE

Not everyone was happy with Penta after his WWE Raw debut but it seems the story might not be quite as simple as that.

After months of speculation, the moment fans of Penta El Zero Miedo have been waiting for arrived on the January 13 edition of Raw as the Mexican star made his WWE debut.

Penta defeated Chad Gable with his Penta Driver. After the match, he took to the microphone and noted that it was not only a “Netflix new era” in WWE, it was also a “Penta new era.” However, a report suggested not everyone was thrilled with his performance.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that some WWE stars were not happy that Penta went well over his time which meant other segments later in the show had to be cut down to accommodate him. This raised eyebrows with many given that WWE is believed to have a flexible runtime on Netflix meaning that they didn’t necessarily need to cut time.

No Heat On Penta After All?

Fightful Select has followed up on that, noting that Penta did go over time, not with his match but with his post-match promo. One WWE higher up noted that if there was heat it should be directed at whoever decided Raw needed a hard out rather than Penta himself.

WWE is said to be trying to get Raw to two and a half hours which is why there may have been a lack of flexibility although claims from inside the company were that many talents were hoping to catch late flights after the show.

Several talents had not heard of any heat towards Penta with the roster being happy for the star as they knew what the moment meant for him and his family who were in the front row watching on.
