Why The Hardys Wrestling Careers May End At The Same Time
The Hardys duo of Matt & Jeff Hardy started in pro wrestling together and their careers may end together as well.
When wrestling fans think about the greatest tag teams in the history of the business, there’s a good chance that the names of Matt & Jeff Hardy may be brought up. That’s because The Hardys are wrestling legends who have had success everywhere they’ve been, especially in WWE.
Matt Hardy is now a 50-year-old married father of four kids and Jeff Hardy is a 47-year-old married father of two. They have come a long way from the days of backyard wrestling and competing on WWE television as teenagers.
In November 2024, The Hardys re-signed with TNA Wrestling on one-year deals. They are currently the TNA World Tag Team Champions and have held those titles three times. Both men have also had a lot of success as singles wrestlers with each of them holding the TNA World Title, Jeff has been WWE Champion multiple times, and Matt won plenty of singles gold in WWE as well.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Matt Hardy is taking things day by day in terms of how long he is going to keep wrestling.
“I just think I’m just gonna ride the spiral until it ends. I’m just gonna ride the spiral until it ends. I think in the past I have, I’m just gonna see how I feel and just roll with it. I try not to think too far ahead. I try not to overwhelm myself. I’m more of a day-by-day person. I just try and get through every single day and make it as good as possible.”
Matt Hardy Believes The Hardys Could Retire As Wrestlers Together
The discussion continued with Matt Hardy being asked if the brothers would retire at the same time. Matt thinks that it’s a possibility while also talking about what each brother may do after they leave the ring for good.
“I would imagine it would probably go out that way. We came in that way. We would probably go out that way.
Then for Jeff, I could see him, he’ll end up being an artist, living in Cameron or whatever he’s doing.
I think I’m a lifer in the business. I’ll be working somewhere as a producer or an agent or creative or whatever else, just because I’m so passionate about pro wrestling. I think once I stop being an in-ring performer, I will still contribute.”
At TNA Genesis on January 19th in Dallas, The Hardys will defend the TNA Tag Team Titles against The Rascalz in a difficult match for the champions.
