Why Swerve Strickland Was The Best Thing To Happen To Adam Page In AEW
Swerve Strickland has taken credit for Adam Page’s recent resurgence.
Throughout 2024, Page and Strickland have been involved in a bitter feud that got more brutal with each encounter. In their last encounter at All Out, Adam Page controversially injected Swerve Strickland with a hypodermic needle to knock him out cold in an unsanctioned Steel Cage match.
The rivalry has also seen Page challenging for the AEW World Championship for the first time since 2022 and reaching the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. According to Strickland, Hangman has him to thank for his main event comeback.
At the post-WrestleDream press conference, Swerve said things were settled between the two for now, and pointed out that before the pair got involved, Page was stuck on the All Out pre-show.
“Right now, I think a lot of things have been settled, but there is a small minute piece that still hasn’t been settled with him. He can have that victory. He can that unsanctioned victory over me. I have two legit victories over him. I’m always going to hold that over his head. Another thing was, over the last year, I was the best thing to happen to Hangman Page. If you look at All Out last year, he was on Zero Hour doing a battle royal. I brought him to the main event. Just like I did with Will Ospreay.”
Swerve Strickland Rejects MVP At AEW WrestleDream
Swerve Strickland returned to AEW at WrestleDream for the first time since All Out. The star addressed MVP’s offer to leave Prince Nana and join him and Shelton Benjamin instead. While Swerve said he appreciated MVP’s ability to reinvigorate former champions, he refused to turn his back on Nana, who he said was “family.”
It looks like the decision will have repercussions, as Benjamin wanted him that he was either with them or against them.
