Why Shawn Michaels Ended WWE Star’s Controversial Gimmick

NXT boss Shawn Michaels

One WWE star has revealed that it was Shawn Michaels who brought an end to their character and why he made that choice.

Tiffany Stratton has reigned on SmackDown as WWE Women’s Champion ever since she won the title from Nia Jax in January 2025 when she cashed in her Money In The Bank contract.

This was the second gold of Stratton’s WWE career, as she had earlier held the NXT Women’s Championship in 2023, eventually losing that gold to Becky Lynch.

It was during her time on NXT that Stratton went by the nickname “Daddy’s little princess” as she portrayed a spoiled rich kid. However, after an injury caused her to miss several months from the ring in late 2022, when Stratton resurfaced, this aspect of her character had vanished without a trace. And now we know why.

Shawn Michaels Scrapped “Daddy’s little princess”

Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, Tiffany Stratton explained that it was Shawn Michaels who made the call to change tack on her character, as there was going to be no payoff:

The Daddy’s little rich girl gimmick kind of came from, like, Sharpay Evans from High School Musical, or like Paris Hilton. Shawn was like, ‘We don’t have a daddy for you. We don’t really have a payoff.’ So I think we kind of just need to to scrap it.

Tiffany Stratton’s dominant reign as WWE Women’s Champion continued at SummerSlam, where she defeated Jade Cargill.
