Why Seth Rollins Should Beat Cody Rhodes At WWE Crown Jewel
Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will go up against one another for the Crown Jewel Championship.
The newly established championship match made its debut last year. The inaugural match was between Cody Rhodes and Gunther, who were both champions in 2024.
In 2025, the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will battle the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the Champion vs. Champion match.
Seth Rollins needs the win to dominate the idea of ‘The Vision’
The Undisputed WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship belts will not be on the line at Crown Jewel. It’s a champion vs. champion match for the Crown Jewel Championship belt.
On Notsam Wrestling, Sam Roberts explained that WWE does not need to put two Crown Jewel championship victories on The American Nightmare.
However, Seth Rollins winning the match can enable him to establish the idea of being the man with the vision to transform WWE.
We’ve seen Cody Rhodes beat Seth Rollins in three huge pay-per-view matches. They were Cody’s first three pay-per-view matches when he returned to the WWE. I think especially because the WWE Championship is not on the line, if you are going champion versus champion for that Crown Jewel belt, instead of putting two Crown Jewel belts on Cody, I think if you have Seth beat Cody Rhodes, if you have Seth Rollins pin Cody Rhodes, then all of a sudden there’s a new wrinkle on this Vision thing. All of a sudden, the idea of Seth being the guy is, well, it’s at least up for conversation.
The Vision has become a popular heel faction in WWE, and might even be a part of Survivor Series WarGames against Roman Reigns and The Usos.
