Why Seth Rollins May Cash In On John Cena Not Gunther
Seth Rollins is now a second time Mr. Money in the Bank. He has teased a cash-in for the Undisputed WWE Championship during John Cena and CM Punk’s segment on RAW after MITB.
While The Visionary running a rivalry with Gunther will be a great opportunity to create an interesting angle for the World Heavyweight Championship, ultimately Rollins might be targeting John Cena.
The Revolutionary has already added the value needed to the World Heavyweight Championship given he was the first superstar to hold it when Triple H reintroduced it. So, the same championship might not be his target again.
Seth Rollins will target John Cena before he can devalue the championship
On Notsam Wrestling, Sam Robert’s discussed that The Visionary might not want to be a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, but target the championship that is the mark of the top guy in the company.
The Undisputed WWE Championship is the Roman belt, the Cody belt, the belt that goes all the way back to when the company was WWWF. Hence, Rollins will want to take that championship from Cena before The Franchise Player can devalue the Undisputed WWE Championship.
What happens if Seth Rollins recognizes that John Cena wants to devalue the championship? And says ‘woah woah I’m looking for the value of the championship. I just don’t want to win a belt. I want the value that comes with that title, so i better make sure that I get it before John Cena can retire with it. And if we have a match with John Cena vs. R-Truth or John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes at some point and Seth Rollins pulls off another heist of the century, now you have Seth Rollins with the WWE Championship. Now you have a Seth Rollins that John Cena will have a problem with.
Seth Rollins is running an unnamed faction with Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman. The wrestling juggernaut wants to use this as a template for future factions. Keeping that in mind, Seth Rollins might soon become the new Undisputed WWE Championship.
