Why Sammy Guevara Won’t Get Back With “His Ex” In AEW

Sammy Guevara AEW

Sammy Guevara is happy with his standing in AEW as he rules out a return to “his ex” in the company.

Sammy Guevara has had something of a stop/start career in AEW as troubles outside of the ring and mistakes inside it have plagued his time in Tony Khan’s company.

Now things have settled down for Guevara, and he is currently one-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions alongside Dustin Rhodes as The Sons of Texas. Guevara and Rhodes challenged for the AEW World Tag Team Title at Double Or Nothing but fell to defeat at the hands of The Hurt Syndicate.

Prior to joining up with Rhodes, Guevara was briefly part of The Don Callis Family as he went to war with his former mentor, Chris Jericho. That partnership with Callis proved to be short-lived, and it’s not one the Spanish God is looking to rekindle.

Sammy Guevara Won’t Crawl Back To Don Callis

Speaking to Bill Apter, Sammy Guevara was asked about The Don Callis Family and if he ever thought he’d return to the group in the future:

Honestly, no, I just think that’d be going backwards for me. It didn’t work out. It’s kind of like, if you wanted to go back with your ex, you know? There’s a reason you guys are not together anymore. There’s a reason me and Don Callis are not together anymore. So I’m not in the family anymore. So let’s just go and cross that bridge, say it’s done, and move on.
