Why Ronda Rousey Won’t Be Returning To UFC
Will Ronda Rousey return to UFC?
Before she ever considered setting foot in a WWE ring, Ronda Rousey established herself as the most famous female combat athlete on the planet with UFC. In fact, when her popularity peaked, she was one of the most recognisable women in sports, regardless of discipline.
However, her time with UFC came to a disappointing end with defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Following the losses, Rousey headed to WWE, initially impressing as she began a new phase of her career.
Seemingly from the moment she walked out of the octagon for the last time, the star was linked with a return. Especially after ending her latest WWE run in 2023.
In a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Rousey discussed constantly being asked if she’ll fight again.
“I appreciate when people ask, Maybe it means they still miss me.
Rousey added that if circumstances were different, maybe she would consider a return, but she remains committed to growing her young family.
“If I could, I definitely would,” said Rousey. “If I want to have a whole basketball team full of kids, I can’t take any more detours. I’ve always wanted to be a mom with a lot of kids.”
Ronda Rousey Won’t Return To WWE
Ronda Rousey hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by her close friend Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023. Although her first run with WWE was a huge hit with fans, her second stint was much less well-received with many questioning her commitment.
When she walked away in 2019 it was always known she’d return one day, but in 2024 the situation looks very different. In a recent video promoting the release of her latest book, Ronda Rousey branded the company a “sh*tshow,” commenting that she won’t be going back.
