Why Roman Reigns May Have Refused To Appear In WWE: Unreal
Roman Reigns did not appear in the WWE: Unreal docuseries.
The Stamford-based company recently dropped a five-episode docuseries, WWE Unreal, on Netflix. It featured the behind-the-scenes road to WrestleMania 41.
Many top WWE stars appeared on the show, either being interviewed or in backstage situations, including Cody Rhodes, John Cena, and Charlotte Flair.
However, Roman Reigns was absent from the docuseries despite being part of the major Triple Threat match that headlined Night 1 of this year’s Show of Shows.
Roman Reigns May Have Asked For More Money To Film WWE: Unreal
On a recent episode of the Notsam Wrestling podcast, a fan brought up the subject, wondering why Roman Reigns did not participate in the five-episode docuseries.
WWE personality Sam Roberts disclosed that he had noticed the same. He added that he believes it was 100% intentional that The Original Tribal Chief was not on the show. The 41-year-old pointed out that Reigns might have refused to appear on the show unless Netflix paid him to be the face of the docuseries.
I think it was 100% intentional that Roman was not on that show. And I don’t know if that’s specifically WWE going, ‘Don’t shoot Roman,’ or if that’s Roman going, ‘You know what? I’m not gonna be where the cameras are. I’m not hanging out. And, ‘Oh, there’s cameras in Gorilla now? Cool. Enjoy it. I’m not being in there. Unless Netflix wants to pay me to be the face of Unreal. I’m no just gonna be another one of these guys.’ I truly believe that is, that’s at least hos I read into it. [53:17 onwards]
