Why Paul Heyman Thinks WWE Is Driving Pop Culture

Paul Heyman

WWE has entered a whole new world with Netflix and for Paul Heyman, there’s only one man to thank for the current wrestling boom – although he gives himself an honourable mention as well.

WWE debuted on Netflix in January 2025 as part of a $5 billion deal. Roman Reigns reclaimed his title as Tribal Chief on that first edition of Raw on the streaming giant and Paul Heyman has since revealed that Reigns will be part of the 2025 Royal Rumble as he seeks to reclaim the Undisputed WWE Championship as well.

Roman Reigns is the cover star for WWE 2K25, and none of WWE’s success over the last five years is lost on Reigns’ Wiseman whose been with him every step of the way.

Paul Heyman Says WWE No Longer On The Fringe

Speaking to Variety, Paul Heyman let his bombastic nature take over when he was asked about WWE debuting on Netflix and says the sports entertainment giant is in the driving seat of pop culture:

We’re no longer a boutique industry. We’re not on the fringe. We’re driving pop culture now, and with the fact that Roman Reigns is the undisputed top box office attraction, the number one star in the entire industry, and his Wiseman, are driving these cultural phenomenon, I would suggest the youth of this world is in very good hands right now.

WWE’s popularity is taking the company to a brand new international location for a premium live event in 2025 as it continues to prove its credentials as a global powerhouse.
