Why Logan Paul’s Presence Makes Some WWE Stars Struggle
Logan Paul as a WWE superstar makes some people struggle in the company, according to a veteran wrestler.
For the past three years, Logan Paul has gone from being a YouTuber with a successful podcast and energy drink to a guy who has competed against some of the biggest names in WWE history.
Whether it has been Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, or Rey Mysterio, Paul has shown that he is more than capable in the ring despite having fewer than 20 matches in his career.
When Karrion Kross went on an aggressive rant on a WWE YouTube show after WrestleMania 41, he signaled out Logan Paul, who had just come off a big win over former WWE Champion AJ Styles.
During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Kross explained what he was trying to say about Paul, who is considered an outsider in pro wrestling because he didn’t spend years perfecting his craft like Kross and most of the WWE roster.
“I’ll say this, I don’t have a problem with Logan Paul. I think he’s an amazing athlete and I think he’s doing really good work, and a lot of people will be pissed that I’m saying that. But it’s true. I don’t wanna B.S. around that.
What I have a problem with is this idea within the system to reward the mainstream archetype like Logan with certain types of liberties and privileges that could be delegated to the people that have pretty much dedicated their entire lives and are here full-time.
I struggle with that and I’m not the only one. I think it just needs to be said.”
Karrion Kross Criticizing Logan Paul Wasn’t From A Disgruntled Place
As he continued, Kross explained that criticizing Paul (and his whole rant after WrestleMania 41) wasn’t done out of anger. It was more about passion and caring about your job.
“I have no problem as a professional wrestler with anyone coming in and being on our show and doing anything. Just as long as I get to hit them with a steel chair as they walk in. If I can hit them with the chair! Then they can come in and do whatever they want. After that? You know, it’s fine.
But, in all seriousness, we, the collective, the talent, the wrestlers, the performers, we can go viral too. I don’t want there to be this idea, this dependency that other people from other lanes are the only people that can do that.
We can too and that’s why I say, it didn’t really come from a disgruntled place. It came from a place of passion. I wanna show people what they wanna see. I know what they wanna see, and I proved that. That was the whole point. That’s where that comes from and those are my thoughts on him.”
Logan Paul recently made the statement that WWE fans are mad that he wasn’t fired when the company did some recent roster cuts. Considering Paul is getting a World Heavyweight Title shot against Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24th, it’s clear that WWE officials are likely high on Paul and he’s not something that they would fire any time soon.
