Why Kevin Owens Will Never Get WWE Dream Match
Kevin Owens has revealed the lengths one WWE Hall of Famer has gone to avoid being asked to get back in the ring for one more match.
At WrestleMania 38, Kevin Owens did what nobody had done in 19 years as he took on Stone Cold Steve Austin in a WWE match. Steve Austin rolled back the years to beat Kevin Owens in an impromptu main event that had originally been advertised as a segment of ‘The Kevin Owens Show.’
But it seems there’s another WWE Hall of Famer Owens wants to get his hands on but it doesn’t look like it will ever happen.
Shawn Michaels Avoids Awkward Kevin Owens Question
Speaking to Muscle Man Malcolm, Kevin Owens was asked if he could entice one more WWE legend out of retirement and into the ring who would it be, and for Owens, that answer is always the same but it seems he’s now given up trying to make it happen:
Well the answer is always Shawn Michaels and I really try pretty much every year. I think I’m done trying now though. I mean I think he’s pretty much—you know it’s three years running where he’s politely said no to me. I think the next time I ask he’ll probably just tell me to, you know, F off to say it nicely.
I think last year he literally had like tricep surgery just to avoid the question. But yeah if I could wrestle, if there’s anyone, I’d love to wrestle Shawn Michaels. And you know I’m sure he would still be able to put in a performance like no other, I have no doubt, but he’s done with it. He’s done. Trust me I’ve tried.
Shawn Michaels retired from the ring after WrestleMania 26 in 2010 when he lost a Streak vs. Career match against The Undertaker. The Heartbreak Kid was tempted out of that retirement for an ill-fated bout in Saudi Arabia as he teamed with Triple to take on The Undertaker and Kane.
