Why John Cena Is Like The Kansas City Chiefs

John Cena

John Cena was so good people hated him.

At the peak of his powers, very wrestlers split opinion like John Cena. While he dominated the main event picture and shifted merchandise by the bucket load, many more seasoned fans grew tired of watching “Super Cena” overcome the odds, time after time.

Even in mainstream sports, fans get tired of winners, as Seth Rollins recently pointed out.

During an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, Rollins compared Cena to the Kansas City Chiefs, claiming he was so successful people started booing him.

“John Cena is the perfect example. He’s a guy who recently turned heel for the first time in a long time, but John is the perfect example. He would win so much, they would just boo him. ‘We want Cena.’ ‘Cena sucks,'”

Away from the ring, Seth Rollins has been announced as the guest host for the NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.

John Cena To Retire As A Heel?

Although he’s currently relishing his new role as a bad guy, most fans expect Cena to return to life as a beloved babyface before he eventually retires at the end of the year. However, one veteran has suggested that an alternative route to retirement might be more interesting.

Speaking on his podcast, Kevin Nash laid out a plan for John Cena to retire as a heel, noting that it wouldn’t negatively impact his legacy either in or out of the ring in any way. Although Nash did offer the caveat that Cena’s creative would come down to what he wants, and how he wants to go out.
