Why WWE Legend John Cena Is Against Growing Facial Hair
John Cena feels like he has a valid reason for not growing a beard or any kind of facial hair.
Many adult males experiment with different looks throughout their lives, particularly with facial hair. Some of them have beards, mustaches, goatees, long sideburns, or other facial hair choices, and they keep whatever makes them comfortable.
For the past 23 years, John Cena has been on our television screens, appearing in WWE, movies, television shows, commercials, and more. During that entire time, Cena has had a consistent, clean-shaven look without any sign of a beard or mustache.
In a WIRED autocomplete interview, the subject of John Cena’s lack of facial hair was brought up, and he explained that he can’t grow a lot of it, so he’d rather avoid it. In response to “Can John Cena grow facial hair?” he said this:
“Not a chance. I haven’t shaved in five weeks. I’ve tried, it shows up in patches. Guys, you know I can barely grow hair hair, so facial hair is equally challenging. I did rock a mustache for like a hot minute cause I tried to grow out my hair but this part doesn’t grow, this part doesn’t grow, this part doesn’t grow. So it looks really bad.”
It sounds like a valid excuse by the 17-time WWE World Champion.
John Cena Will Be Featured At Major Upcoming WWE Events
The WWE retirement tour of John Cena will continue at Clash in Paris on August 31st when he faces Logan Paul in a singles match for the first time. While it may not be the main event, it will be Cena’s last time wrestling in Paris, so it should be one of the loudest crowds of the year.
WWE also confirmed that John Cena will be in action at the first-ever Wrestlepalooza PLE on September 20th in Indianapolis. That will be a historic show for the company because it marks the start of WWE’s new US PLE deal with ESPN, which will feature PLE’s streaming on the new ESPN app, starting with Wrestlepalooza.
It’s not confirmed yet, but Cena will likely be against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. Lesnar is scheduled for SmackDown on September 12th and 19th, and his match at Wrestlepalooza will be his first WWE match in over two years.
As of this writing, Cena has 11 dates left on his WWE farewell tour, and nine of those events are already being advertised.
We may not know every match and opponent yet, but we know Cena likely won’t be wrestling with a beard.
