Why Joe Hendry Really Made The Switch To WWE NXT
Joe Hendry has opened up about what made him make the switch to WWE to be part of the NXT brand.
Joe Hendry was front and centre of WWE’s partnership with TNA throughout 2025. So much so that Hendry carried the TNA World Title into WrestleMania 41 as Randy Orton’s surprise opponent at that show.
It became very clear that Hendry was WWE-bound, and that has now officially become the case after he was added to the NXT roster.
Joe Hendry Wants To Be The Best
Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, the Scottish star has explained his reasoning for making the jump to NXT, as he is obsessed with being the best:
Right now I am obsessed with getting better at wrestling, and trying to be the absolute best professional wrestler that I can be.
That is, for me, the primary reason why I chose to come to NXT, was to evolve as a wrestler. Because I really feel I can take this all the way, and the Performance Center has the tools for me to do that. I am obsessed with getting better, so I actually find it super hard to switch off from the wrestling business and relax.
Joe Hendry was part of the recent men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline, but he came up short with Je’Von Evans picking up the win.
