Why Jey Uso May Lose World Heavyweight Championship Soon

Jey Uso

Jey Uso’s World Heavyweight Championship reign could end soon.

Uso’s making Gunther tap out to win the title at WrestleMania 41 was a historic moment. Since then, he has appeared consistently on Raw, taking on various challenges.

Jey also had his first successful title defense at Saturday Night’s Main Event against Logan Paul, despite John Cena’s attempt to “ruin wrestling” by costing the champ his belt.

While Jey Uso’s title run has been welcomed by fans, it has drawn sharp criticism, too, with some labeling him a transitional champion.

Recently, former WWE Tag Team Champion Bully Ray claimed that Jey feels like the guy who won the World Heavyweight Championship; he doesn’t feel like the World Heavyweight Champion.

Meanwhile, two former employees of the company have also emerged as critics due to the lack of cohesive storytelling and the reuse of storylines.

Why Jey Uso Could Relinquish The Title To Gunther?

Appearing on the Coach and Bro podcast, Former WWE creative writer Vince Russo and former employee Tommy Carlucci accused the company of “running the same plays.”

Russo cited the example of how Rhea Ripley came and went from Judgment Day, and now the writers are treating Liv Morgan the same way with the introduction of Roxanne Perez, labeling the scenario as ‘rinse, wash, repeat.’

It’s the same thing every week. Then you see Gunther and Jey now. They’re gonna, like, who cares? Do you really care about this? Unless Jey is gonna lose the title sometime soon. Maybe they don’t think he’s carrying it right or he’s not the great representation that they thought he would be. I just can’t figure it out, agreed Carlucci.

Gunther won the Heavyweight Championship for the first time after defeating Damien Priest at SummerSlam last year.
