Why Goldberg Stopped His Son Signing With WWE
Goldberg might be done as a wrestler, but he’s also put a stop to his son signing with WWE for one very good reason.
Goldberg was put to sleep by Gunther in their match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The bout was billed as the final one of Goldberg’s career, and it paid homage to his WCW roots with many names from his past in that promotion accompanying him for his iconic entrance one last time.
However, it seems Goldberg is not happy at all with how his retirement was handled, despite WWE making plenty of glowing tributes to the star in its aftermath.
Triple H even noted he believes Goldberg’s son will one day get in a WWE ring, but it seems something would have to change for that to happen.
Goldberg Put A Stop To WWE NIL Deal
Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Goldberg revealed that WWE had already offered his son Gage an NIL deal. However, once he saw how much it was worth, he put a stop to it:
They tried to give him an NIL (deal) but when I found out how much they were going to give him, I put the brakes on that one. But they would be ignorant if they didn’t have an idea that it could be in his future.
