Why Eric Bischoff Likes Major AEW Changes

Eric Bischoff

Eric Bischoff has given some rare praise for AEW after some recent changes.

The March 6th edition of AEW Dynamite saw some major changes in the presentation of the show. Not only was there a new logo and brighter colour scheme in place, but the fan-favourite entrance tunnels returned to the top of the ramp among other new design elements.

One man who was pleased to see the refreshed setup was WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff. While he has often been critical of the product, the new look impressed Easy E.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff praised the new colour scheme, saying it was what AEW needed to “pop” more visually.

“I love the colors, I know that sounds really weird but I think AEW needed something to make it pop visually. When I watch AEW sometimes I feel like I’m sitting in the arena watching it, and that’s how I like to watch television. If I’m watching wrestling I want to feel like I’m in the arena, I don’t want to feel like I sometimes do with WWE.”

Bischoff then compared it to the wrestlers themselves, many of whom he believes could use more colour in their presentation.

“So much of the talent looks like they’ve not given any thought into their gimmick. You’ve got so much of the talent showing up in jeans and ripped-up gear. The lack of color, there’s a void of character sometimes because everybody kind of dresses the same and looks the same and looks like they get their gear at Walmart.”

Eric Bischoff Would Change One Thing About Sting’s Final Match

Eric Bischoff was not a fan of the risk involved in Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution. While fans and critics have praised the bout, which saw Sting, The Young Bucks, and especially Darby Allin take risks to make The Icon’s retirement bout one to remember, Bischoff claimed it “didn’t do anything at all for Sting.”
