Why Blake Monroe May Regret Jumping From AEW To WWE
There has been a suggestion that Blake Monroe could regret making the jump from AEW to WWE.
On the June 17th edition of NXT, Blake Monroe signed her NXT contract one week after the star formerly known as Mariah May in AEW made her surprise debut in WWE.
Fatal Influence made their presence felt during that contract signing, led by NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne. Jayne tore into Monroe, which led to the WWE newcomer pie-faced Jayne. Fatal Influence had the numbers advantage, however, and they attacked Monroe, putting her through a table and leaving her lying as Jayne posed with her title to end the night.
That seemed to put Monroe on a collision course with Fatal Influence, but at Evolution, she surprised everyone as Blake Monroe cost her supposed friend Jordynne Grace the NXT Women’s Title against Jacy Jayne.
Even though Monroe seems to be on the rise in WWE, is there a chance she might live to regret giving up her main event role in AEW?
Will Blake Monroe Regret WWE Jump?
Speaking on The Wrestling Time Machine, long-time wrestling figure Bill Apter shared why he believes Blake Monroe could end up regretting making the jump to WWE:
It’s not an issue, well yeah it is. I mean I am wondering if she made a mistake leaving AEW. And I’ll tell you why. They created this beautiful character of her emulating Marilyn Monroe… The thing that I am surprised that is happening, I know it’s early in her tenure there. Number one is that they brought her into NXT.
When she was in AEW she was main event quality. She goes into NXT, you’re kinda on the same level as the rest of the roster in there.
