Why Alexa Bliss Deserves A Lot Of Praise For WWE Team With Charlotte Flair

A WWE Hall of Famer has explained why Alexa Bliss is a big reason why Charlotte Flair is finding success in a new role.

The WWE Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss are veteran superstars who started in the company around the same time in the early 2010s without any pro wrestling experience. After their NXT days, they got called up to the main roster about a decade ago.

As singles wrestlers, Charlotte Flair is a 14-time Women’s Champion, which is by far the most of any woman in company history, and Alexa Bliss’s resume isn’t too shabby since she’s a 5-time Women’s Champion as well.

Both women are undoubtedly future WWE Hall of Famers and have been huge influences not just on their generation but also on the next generation as well.

Since winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss have taken on all comers during their three-month title reign. This past Monday on Raw, Flair & Bliss defeated Bayley & Lyra Valkyria in an incredible match that saw the champions retain. After the match, Flair and Bliss were attacked by the Kabuki Warriors duo of Asuka & Kairi Sane, so that rivalry should pick up soon.

Flair’s team with Bliss started out as two women who were acquaintances, and have now become friends because of how well they work together as a team.

Teaming With Alexa Bliss Has Been The Best Thing For Charlotte Flair

When Charlotte Flair won the Women’s Royal Rumble this past February, it was an impressive victory because she had missed over a year of action due to a knee injury. However, the fans didn’t show Flair sympathy after coming back from injury. Instead, she was booed as usual, and fans rejected the idea of her as a top singles star again.

Following Flair’s inability to take the WWE Women’s Title from Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41, it slowly led to Flair becoming a tag team with Alexa Bliss, even though there was reluctance at first.

On a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley (aka Bully Ray) made the point that because Flair teamed with a popular woman like Bliss, it has helped Flair big time as a babyface.

“Charlotte has got the rub from Alexa when it comes to how the fans perceive Charlotte.

“Whether we feel a certain way about Charlotte and her being synonymous with gold or not, the fanbase was tired of Charlotte being in the title scene, so tired that the whole program with Tiffany did not work.

“Now they get Charlotte out of a picture and put her with a beloved Alexa Bliss, and all of a sudden, how does an audience go from ‘we hate you’ to ‘wow we really like you’. That basically happened over night.

“It’s because since we love Alexa so much, and because Alexa was involved with Bray, and Bray is no longer with us. Since we accept Alexa, and we love Alexa, if Alexa is friends with you, then we like you too.

“Something is also going on with Charlotte that hasn’t happened with her in a long, long time; she’s having fun. I would keep Charlotte Flair out of the World Championship picture for so long that the people want to see her come back.” (H/T Wrestletalk)

Alexa Bliss has spoken about her team with Charlotte Flair in the past and stated that a big reason why it works is because they are so different, yet they have great chemistry in the ring.
