Why AJ Lee Joined Rhea Ripley’s WWE WarGames Team Revealed

AJ Lee made her return to WWE in September this year in what would go down as one of the best returns in the promotion’s history. The fans in Chicago erupted when Lee’s music hit for the first time in over 10 years.

She wrestled at WWE Wrestlepalooza that month before taking some time off and made her return on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. After costing Becky Lynch her match during the episode, she went backstage and had a conversation with Rhea Ripley.

The following Friday night on SmackDown, Ripley revealed AJ Lee to be the final member of her WarGames team. This would be the first time AJ Lee would set foot inside the structure, and fans are looking forward to her debut in the match.

During the most recent episode of RAW Recap, Rhea Ripley revealed the actual reason she brought AJ Lee on her team, despite her lack of experience in the match. Ripley stated that she needed AJ Lee in the match because she likes the fire inside her.

“Growing up, I watched AJ Lee. I loved watching AJ Lee. She was one of my favorites for sure. I thought she was amazing at what she did, especially for the size that she is. She’s scrappy, she doesn’t give up, and I like that fire inside of her that I know she has … I needed someone that can hang in this kind of match.” Ripley said.

Ripley, like many other newer WWE stars, was AJ’s fan growing up, so teaming with her is sure to be an unforgettable moment for the Nightmare. They are set to take on the team of The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, Lash Legend and Becky Lynch at Survivor Series this Saturday.
