Why AEW Star MJF May Divorce His Wife [Shocking Revelation]
MJF says that he’ll divorce his wife if this one thing is taken out of the equation.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) made his much-anticipated return to AEW programming recently and went on to win the AEW World Championship at World’s End on December 27th, 2025. He defeated Swerve Strickland, “Hangman” Adam Page, and the champion Samoa Joe, pinning Joe to win the title.
The AEW star also got married to long-term girlfriend Alicia Atout in September 2025, whom he had known for seven years. They had met when they were in their early 20s in Major League Wrestling and hit it off. They only made the relationship public in 2023.
MJF is also known to be hilarious and did not waste the opportunity to roast his wife during a recent interview.
MJF Says No S*x In Marriage Will Make Him Consider Divorce.
Speaking to Brandon Walker on the Mostly Sports channel, MJF was asked about his married life. Friedman comedically responded by saying that it’s exceptional because he can have s*x with his wife anytime now. Walker responds to this by saying that this has not been his experience of married life. To which Friedman says that he’s only four months in, and if the s*x stops in the future, he would consider divorce.
[How’s married life?] You know what? Exceptional. I get to have s** with her whenever I want. But I’m not even a year in yet, so if that’s the cheat code or what — if it changes, I’m getting a divorce. As of right now, things are great
MJF also jokes that he was smart enough to sign a pre-nuptial agreement by way of which everything he owns before his marriage will stay with him in case of a divorce. He further roasts his wife for being a Canadian and goes on to quip that she’s illiterate and probably couldn’t even read the prenup.
And also, I’m smart. Obviously, we did the prenup, so that’s fine. She walks the dogs, cleans the cat’s litter, she cooks, she cleans, she also — just so everybody knows, she’s Canadian. So that’s the only downside. I think she’s illiterate. I don’t even think she was able to read the prenup. But it’s just, the fact that she’s Canadian sometimes bums me the f**k out,” he added.
