Who Really Knew About John Cena’s Shock WWE Heel Turn
Triple H has revealed who knew about John Cena’s shock heel turn in WWE and that Cena didn’t even tell his own wife about the plan.
At Elimination Chamber, John Cena shocked the world as he turned heel for the first time in 22 years with a vicious attack on Cody Rhodes. That came after Rhodes refused to sell his soul to The Rock.
Cena, The Rock, and rap star Travis Scott all attacked Rhodes, leaving him bloodied and battered. But for such a historic moment, it seems WWE wasn’t taking any chances about word leaking out.
John Cena Didn’t Tell Wife About WWE Heel Turn
Speaking in a WWE interview before WrestleMania 41, Triple H revealed that Cena’s heel turn was such a secret that he didn’t even tell his wife or manager about it:
We kept that so quiet that, on our side, three people on the exec team, from the writing staff, knew. That’s it — me and two others. Nobody else knew. Cena knew, obviously. Cena didn’t even tell his wife. Cena didn’t tell his manager.
Triple H continued, noting that The Rock and Cody Rhodes knew the plan, but revealed there was one thing John Cena didn’t know and that was Travis Scott slapping Rhodes as hard as he possibly could:
Cody knew. Cody told no one. Obviously Rock knew. Travis [Scott] sort of knew, but he was just f*cking going along, just being along for the ride. You know, doing exactly what they told him to do, which is, at some point slap Cody. And he was f*cking slapping him whether Cena wanted it or not, because Cena didn’t know about that part.
