When Does Randy Orton’s WWE Contract Expire?

Randy Orton WWE SmackDown contract

Randy Orton is back in WWE but how long can fans expect to see him in the company before his current contract expires?

Randy Orton returned to action after eighteen months out of the ring at Survivor Series when he joined Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes against The Judgment Day in WarGames.

There had been some doubt about Orton’s long-term future in the ring as doctors told Randy Orton not to return to wrestling following serious back surgery.

How Long Will Randy Orton Stay In WWE?

Following WarGames, Orton was seen telling the live fans in Chicago that he intended to keep going for ten more years but Fightful Select has now provided more clarity about his current WWE contract.

The report recalls how Orton had teased free agency in 2019 around the time WWE was signing stars to long-term contracts due to the impending debut of AEW. At that time Orton signed a five-year deal with WWE that would keep him with the company until the fall of 2024.

However, due to his 18 months on the shelf, it is believed that WWE could add that time to Orton’s contract as they have done to other talent in the past. That would put the expiration date of Orton’s current deal at some point in the spring of 2026. A WWE higher-up is quoted as saying that they “would be surprised” if WWE did not extend Orton’s deal.

As has been seen with the likes of Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, and Chris Jericho, there are alternatives for long-tenured WWE talent with AEW in the mix so WWE would likely have to dig deep for Orton’s next contract should they wish to keep The Viper.
