When Jeff Cobb Really Signed With WWE

Jeff Cobb

Jeff Cobb has arrived in WWE but when did The Bloodline’s newest enforcer really sign on with the company?

Jeff Cobb recently left NJPW after seven years with the company, and it became immediately apparent that the powerhouse was on his way to WWE.

His hurried departure from NJPW had many believe his arrival at WWE was imminent, but as WrestleMania came and went, there was no sign of him. But that all changed at Backlash.

At Backlash in St. Louis, Jacob Fatu put his WWE United States Championship on the line in a huge fatal four-way against Damian Priest, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre.

Late in the bout, Knight had the chance to drop his elbow through a prone Fatu, who was lying on the commentary table. However, Solo Sikoa stopped that from happening. As Knight went after Sikoa, Jeff Cobb nailed Knight with a huge clothesline. However, Jacob Fatu looked very confused about Cobb’s intervention, leading to more dissension in The Bloodline. Fatu ultimately hit his moonsault to retain his gold.

Jeff Cobb Signed With WWE Months Ago

Many fans raised eyebrows about the manner of Cobb’s NJPW departure, especially as he vacated a title he only held for 9 days on his way out of NJPW rather than lose the gold in a match. Fightful Select has reported that Cobb has been signed to WWE for months and had appeared on the company’s internal roster for “quite some time.”

It’s important to note that Jeff Cobb’s latter appearances in NJPW were as a free agent, as his contract with the promotion had expired, leaving him to sign elsewhere.
