When Is Roman Reigns Returning To SmackDown?

Roman Reigns returns at WWE SummerSlam 2024

WWE has announced Roman Reigns’ first appearance since his sensational return at SummerSlam.

The main event of SummerSlam saw Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules match. As expected, the bout saw interference from every member of Sikoa’s version of The Bloodline as they attempted to help their Tribal Chief capture the gold from Rhodes. However, The American Nightmare had his own backup in the form of Kevin Owens and Randy Orton, who fended off Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, taking them to the backstage area.

That assistance wasn’t enough, as Jacob Fatu later made his mark in the match by trying to take out Rhodes with a huge splash through an announce table. The champion still wasn’t out, though, and shocked Sikoa when he kicked out of an Uso Splash and went on to hit a Cody Cutter, leaving both men lying in the ring.

At this point, Roman Reigns made his much-anticipated return to WWE and immediately made a beeline for Sikoa, taking him out with a Superman Punch and Spear to hand the match to Rhodes.

Roman Reigns Set For Imminent SmackDown Return

Fans won’t have to wait long to find out the Original Tribal Chief’s intentions for Sikoa, as WWE has advertised Reigns for the August 9th edition of SmackDown, which takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other stars listed for the show include Cody Rhodes, Bayley, and new WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax.
