What WWE Really Thought Of John Cena’s Raw Promo
John Cena went full heel on Raw as he took his frustrations out on the WWE fans and now the backstage reaction to Cena’s outburst has been revealed.
At Elimination Chamber, John Cena shocked the world when he viciously turned on Cody Rhodes and his legions of WWE fans, selling his soul to The Rock in the process. That turn came after Cena won the Elimination Chamber match to ensure he’d have a shot at winning the 17th world title of his career against Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
On the March 17 edition of Raw, John Cena went all the way to Brussels, Belgium to finally explain his actions. Cena laid bare two decades of frustrations with the fans who he claims never did anything for him. For his worries, John Cena received “f*ck you Cena” and “shut the f*ck up” chants as the Belgian fans in attendance flexed their English skills.
Cena whined and complained that all the fans have done is take from him over the years and even after his heel turn, they still wanted more whether it be new music or a new look. Instead, Cena said they get nothing because they don’t deserve it.
WWE Delighted With John Cena & Fans
Cody Rhodes finally put an end to Cena’s pity party as he interrupted and expressed how disappointed he was that this version of Cena had appeared. Rhodes warned that he wanted the real John Cena to appear at WrestleMania or else he’d retire him early.
Fightful Select has reported that, as expected, WWE was “ecstatic” with how Cena’s promo went and the fan’s reaction to him. There was also more good news for Belgian fans as one WWE source noted Raw was the “hottest TV environment they’ve experienced” which bodes well for the company returning there for a TV taping in the future.
