There are more details on what Vince McMahon did at Hulk Hogan’s funeral, which featured many big names in the world of wrestling.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71 on July 24th. The legendary Hulkster died of a cardiac arrest, while Hogan also suffered from leukemia, CLL, a type of cancer that affects white blood cells.

At Hogan’s funeral, many big names in the world of wrestling were in attendance, including WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair, Kevin Nash, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Ted Dibiase, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Jimmy Hart, and the Hulkster’s former boss, former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon spoke at the funeral and called on those in attendance to give Hogan one last standing ovation.

While speaking on the Jim Ross’ Grillin JR Podcast on Adfreeshows, co-host Conrad Thompson spoke about what it was like at Hogan’s funeral. Thompson is Flair’s son-in-law and has many connections in the pro wrestling business. The funeral took place at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Florida.

“I can tell you how many dozens of police officers were there and they, I mean, they had to, like, make sure you were on the list before you got in the parking lot. And then when you went to the front, they had to check you off a list and it was just a crazy, surreal deal.”

As he continued, Thompson mentioned some of the well-known wrestling personalities and celebrities in attendance.

“When I say kind of surreal, I mean, like I’m seated next to Jeff and Karen Jarrett. Right in front of me is Matt Riddle and his wife. Right behind me is Dory and Marty Funk. Just past Jeff is Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman. Behind them is Kevin Owens. Next to him is Bill Alfonso. Dennis Rodman’s, you know, up front, wailing by the casket, and Brian Nobbs is in the back, boohoo’ing.”

Vince McMahon Put On A “Performance” At Hulk Hogan’s Funeral

Thompson went on to speak about former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s speech at the funeral and how Vince made his presence felt uniquely.

“And then out saunters Vince McMahon. Everybody else went on to the stage from the front steps. Vince sort of came from stage left in the background, and it was a performance.”

Following Vince McMahon on stage was his son-in-law and the man who succeeded him as WWE’s Head of Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“When Triple H came up, he he said something along the lines of, ‘you think by now, I would have learned not to follow Vince McMahon.’ And everybody laughed, and he gave a really nice speech.”

As for how he felt attending the funeral, Thompson spoke about how weird an experience it was.

“I don’t deal well with funerals and the finality of it. And even a star the magnitude of Hulk Hogan, he’s probably one of the most top 10 famous people of our lifetime. And the idea that, you know, you do all of this, and you accomplish all this, and then two hours later, it’s like, ‘where are we going for dinner?’ It’s like, man, this is weird.”

Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke didn’t attend her father’s funeral, and instead honored her father by going to the beach with her family.
