What Sting Really Thinks Of WWE Icon John Cena

John Cena Sting

WWE Hall of Famer Sting has shared his honest thoughts on John Cena just days before Cena follows The Icon into retirement.

Sting competed in the final match of his legendary career at Revolution in March 2024 as he teamed with Darby Allin to retain their AEW Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks. That gave Sting an undefeated record in AEW as he enjoyed one of the finest postscripts to an already iconic career that took in spells in WWE, WCW, and TNA.

Now, the wrestling business is about to say goodbye to another all-time great as John Cena will compete for the final time at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. Cena now knows that he’ll be facing Gunther in his last match after The Ring General won the Last Time Is Now tournament at the expense of LA Knight.

Sting Rooting For John Cena

Speaking with Going Ringside, Sting noted that he’ll be cheering on Cena in his final match as he calls the WWE star one of the best ever:

Kudos to John. He’s one of the greatest of all time. I love to see it. I’m rooting for him. I’m hoping it turns out to be phenomenal. I’m sure that it will. I’m always rooting for those older guys, you know.

John Cena and Sting formed one of the unlikelier tag teams in WWE history when the two men teamed up on the September 14th 2015 edition of Raw to defeat Seth Rollins and The Big Show.
