What John Cena Told WWE Executive After Final PLE Match

John Cena Survivor Series

Bruce Prichard shared what John Cena told him after Survivor Series.

At WWE Survivor Series in San Diego, John Cena defended the Intercontinental Title against Dominik Mysterio in Cena’s final PLE match. Thanks to Dominik getting help from Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and a returning Liv Morgan, “Dirty” Dom was able to get the big win in his hometown to regain the IC Title.

John Cena got a huge ovation from the crowd of 40,000+ fans because they knew it was his last PLE match and second last match overall.

Cena’s final match will be at Saturday Night’s Main Event this Saturday, December 13th, against Gunther.

Bruce Prichard is a longtime WWE employee, going back to the mid-1980s. While he was gone from the company for some of John Cena’s 23-year run in the 2010s, he has been WWE’s Executive Director for several years and has a close relationship with Cena.

While speaking to BT & Sal for WFAN, Prichard expressed sadness about Cena’s final WWE run.

“I got to tell you, it’s also been it’s been kind of sad, too. Because the last match that he had in San Diego, he wrestled Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series. And I hugged him after the match, and I said, ‘You know what? I’m sad. I’m sad that we are only going to do this one more time.’

And he looked at me and said, ‘Bruce, I’ve only got one more time left in me.’ So, bless his heart, man. It’s been a absolute blast doing it. And I’m just sad that it’s coming to an end.” (H/T 411Mania)

John Cena Made A Promise To WWE Fans

What Bruce Prichard said about what John Cena told him is consistent with what Cena has said in numerous interviews over the last year. Cena really feels like he’s given his all to WWE as a wrestler.

“I made a promise to the WWE that I would not stick around when my skills can’t match the product, and they can’t. Like I’m 48. I can’t match up with the product now, and that’s okay, because what I do isn’t who I am.

And, the realization has helped me come to like, “no, let these guys have it now” because they’re really good, and all I would be doing is a disservice to the consumer, if I go any point beyond this.”

As for his post-in-ring career, John Cena will be an Ambassador for WWE, and he’s already revealed he’s signed on for at least 5 years, possibly more in the future. Cena has said that his future WWE appearances will be in a suit rather than in his customary jorts and sneakers.
