What Happened When TLC Returned To WWE SmackDown
TLC returned to WWE on SmackDown but what happened when the Street Profits, MCMG, and DIY went to war for tag team gold?
Before SmackDown in Fort Worth, the last time the WWE main roster saw TLC matches take place was on the final TLC PLE in 2020 when Roman Reigns defeated Kevin Owens to retain his Universal Championship.
Before WrestleMania 41, The Street Profits defended their WWE Tag Team Championship against The Motor City Machine Guns, but that match ended in chaos as DIY got involved to spoil it. An irate Nick Aldis was fed up with the chaos engulfing the WWE Tag Team Title and took possession of the title belts and informed the three teams that they would settle things once and for all when they met in a TLC match for the championship on the next episode of SmackDown.
That took place on April 25 as all three teams put on a performance worthy of WrestleMania itself in the battle for the gold.
Montez Ford Gets A Leg Up To WWE Gold
One of the highlights of the match saw Montez Ford take a prosthetic leg from a fan and use it as a weapon to take out Johnny Gargano in a spot that may well have paid homage to the great Mad Dog Vachon.
The climax of the match saw Johnny Gargano and Chris Sabin battling on top of the ladder before Montez Ford shimmied up the side of it. After sending both Gargano and Sabin to the ring below, Ford removed the title belts to win the match and retain the gold for the Street Profits.
