What Happened When Anarchy Reigned At AEW Double Or Nothing

Anarchy ran wild at AEW Double Or Nothing as fans were treated to a war with a hugely nostalgic soundtrack for fans of a certain era.

Anarchy In The Arena has become a staple of AEW, with two teams battling all over the building with no shortage of complete chaos ensuing. In 2024, Jack Perry was set on fire during the match by Darby Allin leaving fans wondering what carnage would ensue in 2025.

The Death Riders teamed with The Young Bucks to face The Opps, Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, and Willow Nightingale. The match kicked off in trademark fashion with music blaring throughout the arena. There was a choice of tunes at Double Or Nothing, however, as the music began with a special homage to The Young Bucks being AEW’s founding fathers, with a take on a 1776 war march being played. Kenny Omega called for that to stop, and instead, “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters played; that song had briefly been the theme music for Dynamite.

Omega then called for something from the nineties, and Drowning Pool’s “Bodies” – best associated with ECW – then played until the speaker was destroyed. That wasn’t the only surprise as HOOK returned to AEW after being taken out by the Death Riders. HOOK nailed Claudio Castagnoli with a golf club before staring down Samoa Joe as tension in The Opps was teased.

However, the match came to an end when Kenny Omega crashed Matt Jackson through an exploding table while Swerve Strickland laid out Nick Jackson with a Swerve Stomp while Strickland was wearing his new Reebok sneakers covered in thumbtacks to pick up the win.
