One WWE star has had to undergo serious neck fusion surgery, and now the moment they were injured may have been pinpointed.

Elton Prince was last seen in WWE back in May 2025 as part of a tag team match where almost everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Prince was injured during the bout and has now undergone serious neck surgery to try and get his career back on track.

Elton Prince Suffered Two Major Disasters In WWE Match

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez shed more light on what caused Prince’s injury and pointed to two big moments in his last match:

His last match was a tag match with Axiom, and there were two spots in that match. The spot everybody noticed was when Frazer did a phoenix splash and landed on Elton’s face, and pretty much smashed his face. That was the last we saw of him.

I think what hurt his neck, I think, was right before that they did a combo reverse DDT, like a Scorpion Death Drop except Frazer went belly first and Axiom hit an elbow or something and Frazer went down. It looked like what happened was Frazer’s forearm was behind [Prince’s] head as he had his neck hooked and he didn’t move the arm and it looked like the neck fell right on the forearm and it was just one of those things in wrestling and he immediately got his face smashed. It was a disaster of a match.

In his absence, Prince’s Pretty Deadly tag team partner Kit Wilson has struck out on his own. Wilson was the opponent for Matt Cardona as Cardona made his official return to WWE on the first SmackDown of 2026.
