What CJ Perry’s Future Holds After Miro Signs With WWE
Miro has re-signed with WWE but now more light has been shed on the future of his wife CJ Perry – formerly known as WWE’s Lana.
Miro hasn’t wrestled in AEW since defeating Andrade El Idolo at AEW Worlds End on December 30th, 2023. The match was Andrade’s last for the company before returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Little did anyone know that would turn out to be Miro’s last in the company as well.
Miro was signed by Tony Khan’s promotion in September 2020 and he signed an extension in early 2022 that would have kept him in AEW until 2026 but that didn’t pan out. Miro asked for his release from the company in the fall of 2024 and AEW eventually released Miro in February 2025. The Bulgarian Brute was let go alongside other wantaway stars Ricky Starks, Malakai Black, and Rey Fenix.
Miro Back In WWE But CJ Perry Isn’t
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the star was at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut all day on April 2. Sources confirm that the former Rusev has re-signed with the company and was at HQ to “set the stage for his return.” But it looks like he will be going back alone.
Rusev made his name in WWE alongside his wife Lana – also known as CJ Perry – and despite her joining him in AEW briefly, it doesn’t seem that she’ll be back in WWE any time soon.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shed light on CJ Perry’s situation and noted that it was only Miro who had re-signed with WWE so far:
Miro signed yeah. Miro signed, CJ did not sign and was not there. I don’t know – I’ve not heard anything – well I did when asking I was given the impression that she would not be back [in WWE] but you never know for sure. But she did not sign and he did.
