The current style of wrestling is not what it used to be in the last decade or two.

Today, the action is more fast-paced, with high-flying acrobatics involved.

Kurt Angle, who is a former Olympic gold medalist and a six-time WWE World Champion, raised concerns about it during a recent chat with The Undertaker.

Angle is renowned for the technical elements of the sport, often keeping his maneuvers to the mat, except for a handful of instances where he took the ariel route.

The 56-year-old appeared on The Deadman’s Six Feet Under podcast, wherein he discussed his wrestling journey and what bothers him the most about modern-day wrestlers.

While speaking about the latter subject, he was clear while expressing his worries.

I think now, it’s a lot of high-flying and acrobatic, and these guys are showing their athleticism. They’re not showing, like, their working ability. Psychology.

I mean, the guys do sell, but a lot of times I see somebody that just took a devastating move and comes up and doesn’t sell it.

It’s like, whoa, that’s not how it’s supposed to be. I think that we’re losing sight of where wrestling should be.

Kurt Angle Named The Greatest Worker By WWE Hall Of Famer

While talking about his Olympics achievement, Kurt Angle often mentioned how he did it while having a broken neck.

That story spoke highly of his determination to win regardless of how high the odds were stacked against him. His 3-Is, intensity, integrity, and intelligence, were as much a part of his life as his gimmick.

His peers have often spoke highly about his in-ring acumen and his ability to go through a match without seriously injuring himself or his opponent.

During a recent Kliq This podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash named Kurt Angle the greatest worker, while highlighting how great his work was in TNA.

I think Kurt is the greatest worker that has ever been in this business. People, I guess, weren’t privy to his run at TNA. I guess because it’s not out there on the network, but that TNA era of the AJs, the Alex Shelleys, the Sabins, Homicide, I mean, there was so much talent in the locker room and so much talent in that six-sided ring. I don’t think that era of wrestling in TNA get their flowers.

Elsewhere, Kurt Angle discussed what he expected from WWE’s new business partnership with TNA.
