WATCH: Cody Rhodes’ Reaction To Losing Against Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.

The match, which had been brewing for a while, was set with the stipulation of Three Stages of Hell. The first stage was a singles match, which Drew McIntyre won. The second stage was a Falls Count Anywhere match, which Cody Rhodes won.

Finally, the third stage was a Steel Cage match, which The Scottish Warrior won.

Cody Rhodes had an emotional reaction to losing the Undisputed WWE Championship

McIntyre won the final stage by managing to escape the cage after Jacob Fatu entered the ring and interfered. The Samoan Werewolf attacked both McIntyre and Rhodes, but The American Nightmare tried to stop Fatu when the latter attacked McIntyre. On the other hand, The Scottish Warrior escaped the cage when Fatu attacked Rhodes.

Following the match, Cody Rhodes was left alone in the ring. As the steel cage was lifted, fans applauded The American Nightmare for the brutal match and for withstanding the force of both McIntyre and Fatu. The American Nightmare was visibly devastated with the loss and looked around at the fans.

He held onto his knees for a while and had the posture of a broken man before leaving the ring.
